During each class we discuss things that we are actually doing and experiencing. This allows us to apply the Turkish we are learning to our real life needs, including our need to better understand Turkish culture. Every class is interesting and fun because it is experiential rather than rigidly academic. Each class is designed to provide an enjoyable mix of informal conversation as well as grammatical exercises relevant to our learning needs. In those areas where one or more of us is weak, our instructor develops specific lessons to address the problem. In additon she is very flexible and good natured; she adjusts the lessons to accommodate our questions about the culture and allows time for us to talk about things that are of interest to us. This in itself supports improved vocabulary and grammar. I have spoken with other Concepts Languages students, all of whom have tried other schools; we are all in agreement that the Concept Languages approach works for us and is enjoyable as well. - Garret Burton
